Now I can just hear a friend of mine (a fashion photographer) telling me "See I told you, man - you need to save up your pennies and get yourself a stylist"
To me the vibe is late 1800's - where a woman's hair would probably have been quite long (I am a fan of long hair) if not "put up".
So you could go "long" or "put up" where the shape would depend on your taste.
My wife has really long hair and she does a lot of old fashion wind-up things to get it out of the way.
